Top Health Official Urges Seniors to 'Absolutely' Avoid Cruise Ships

U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Anthony Fauci is urging seniors and those with underlying conditions like heart disease and diabetes to "absolutely" avoid cruise ships as the coronavirus proliferates, reports the Huffington Post . "The risk of getting into trouble with this infection . . . is overwhelmingly weighted towards people with underlying conditions and seniors" he emphasized. Fauci told Fox New Sunday that the coronavirus has infected over 350 in the United States, and at least 46 of those confirmed cases were persons who traveled aboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship to Southeast Asia earlier this year. "What we're seeing is what is called 'community spread' in certain regions of the country, particularly in the area of Washington state," Fauci added.
