Webinar: The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s COVID-19 Response: Promising Practices in Health Equity
Author: internet - Published 2020-07-26 07:00:00 PM - (214 Reads)The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is set to offer a webinar on at 3 p.m. ET on July 29 that will focus on sharing the latest public health practices to reduce coronavirus-related disparities. Anyone interested can register here , and attendees can submit questions in advance here . During the one-hour session, a host of presenters will discuss actions taken to mitigate the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on ethnic and racial minorities. In addition, speakers will examine how these ideas can be integrated into longer-term strategies that will strengthen future responses. The moderator will be Dr. Leandris Liburd, Director of the Office of Minority Health and Health Equity/Chief Health Equity Officer of the CDC COVID-19 Response. Speakers will include: Dr. Aletha Maybank, Chief Health Equity Officer at the American Medical Association; David Saunders, Office of Health Equity Director for the Pennsylvania Department of Health; and James E. Bloyd, Regional Health Officer for the Cook County Department of Public Health in Illinois.
