The community hosted the event, intended to lift residents' spirits during the COVID-19 pandemic. "It's great because we get to see our families, which we haven't seen for three months in person. So it's great to see them," said resident Jane Crum, who lives with her husband James in enforced isolation. The parade also offers comfort to visitors. "We are so grateful to be able to come see my mom," said parade participant Ginger Mathis. "I haven't been able to see her since February, so we're just real thrilled."
