Assisted Living Community Residents Enjoying Their 'General Store'

But Bay News 9 reports that the new, in-house "This and That" general store offers them a closer and safer alternative. Staff member Melissa Keesling thought up the concept. "It's truly a miracle for them to be able to do this," she said. "To them, it's the matter of 'Do I just sit in my room and do nothing, or do I continue with my life and have fun?'" Everything at the store is fairly priced. Family members have also been contributing food, toiletries, and basic staples to the store. Rosecastle of Citrus staff hope this will inspire other assisted living communities to open their own similar in-house stores.
